I am a MA student of Cultural studies in Ljubljana, Slovenia. After finishing my bachelor’s degree, I temporarily moved to Prague where I spend a semester at Anglo-American University, trying to gain more knowledge about film – focusing especially on the psychoanalytical aspect of it, as well as trying to educate myself about Central European cinema in general.
In my spare time I like to work at film festivals that take place in Slovenia – mainly at Festival of Slovenian Film and International Animated Film Festival (or in short, Animateka) and I hope I will get even more of such opportunities in the future.
This blog serves me as a platform where I can share my opinions about films (and sometimes, although rarely, about TV-series), while also practising English (which is not, as you might have already guessed, my native language).
I really would not mind getting any kind of feedback from all of you readers out there (good or bad – constructive criticism is more than welcome; how else am I going to improve?!). You can find my contact below or simply use one of the many social media links on my site – I will be happy to hear your thoughts on my reviews or on my blog in general.
Some of my favourite films include Tarkovsky’s Zerkalo, Bergman’s Persona, Ozu’s Tokyo Story, Dreyer’s The Passion of Joan of Arc, Bresson’s Au Hasart Balthazar, Teshigahara’s Woman in the Dunes, Mizoguchi’s Ugetsu, Antonioni’s L’avventura and Bela Tarr’s Werckmeister Harmonies… Here’s the whole list of my all-time favourite movies.
